Step1Greeting

1.        Sing a song:

T: hello boys   and girls. Do you like singing? Let’s sing a song? (Ready go)

What do you know from the song?

Great.how many months do we have?

Now, here are some questions for youlisten carefully, what month comes after Marth?

What month comes before October?

the last one, what month comes after   November?

Ticking time1now you can name the months of the year, I think you   can all have three stars. Good job.

2.        Talk about festivals

We know in different months, we have   different festivals?

What festivals do you know?

You know a lot of festivals. Spring   Festival,Mid-Autumn Festival are Chinese festivals. What about Christmas and   Halloween? Yes, they are Western festivals. How about May Day and Children’s   Day? Good, they are International festivals.

T:  People do many different things at the   different festivals. Look, what is this festival?

When is it? 

What do people do at this festival?

What do people eat at this festival?

Do you like it?

How do you feel?

Can you talk about these festivals like   that?

Step2.   Picture book reading

T: You did a good job. When we are   talking about our festivals. The animals are talking about their festivals   too.

1.        Guess from the picture

Look at the picture, can you guess what   festival are they talking about?

Yes it’s christmas. How do you know?

2.        Introduce the title

Why are talking about Christmas?

Great, let’s read it quickly and  try to tell me why they love it.

3.        Watch and match

 Great, they can do many things at Christmas,

We can also see a lot of animals here.   Let’s watch and match the animals and their activities.

Every animal does their   favourite things at Christmas. They are happy.  It is full of love/happy.

4.       Read

Let’s read after the tape   with emotions or happily

 

Step   4 Writing

1.        Talk about your favourite festival

From the picture book, animals love   Christmas and they can do their favourite things. How about you What festival do you like best and why?

You can answer like that:

2   . write your passage

T: Look, this is our body of the passage   about our favourite festival.

And it needs a head and a tail. How to   write the head and the tail?

What can we write?

Can you give some different ending?

Are you clear? Ok it’s time to write your   favorite festival.

3.         Have a check

Show some students’ passage and tick for   them.

Ticking time4 Now most of you can write the passage about your   favourite festivals. How many stars can you get?  Draw the stars on the paper by yourself. Then   we can share it with your classmates to improve it. Then we will stick   together and make a picture book about our favourite festivals. Do you like   it?

4.        Emotional value

  These   festivals make our life colourful, Chinese festivals are very important. But   we should also respect other festivals and make our life colourful.
