教学目标：

（一）知识目标

1、会读、会说、理解词汇 proudly, daytime, watch, sheep, grass, guard, plough , turn one’s nose up.

2、理解并运用重点句型 But you.... But if I don’t plough, what do you guard?

3、正确理解和朗读故事内容并尝试表演。

课前准备：

多媒体课件，单词句型卡片，故事场景图片

课堂简录：                     

Stage I: Pre-reading

1 Listen to the song “Old Macdonald”

2 Listen to some kinds of voice. Guess what’s on the farm.

Ss learn: sheep，grass

3. The horse and the dog live in the same farm. Show the title and read.

Stage II:  While-reading

1 Look at the dog and the horse. What do you think of them? Ss say sth. about them.

  Ss Watch the story and try to answer: A _proud_ dog and a _clever_ horse

2 Q:How do you know that the dog is proud? Underline the key sentences.

(1) What does the dog say?

Read and learn:

How great I am! In the daytime, I watch the sheep on the grass.

In the evening, I guard the house. But you?

The dog says proudly.  Learn: proudly

Read proudly in groups.

Exercose:Read ,think and judge.

”But you…” What does the dog want to say?

A. But you are great, too.  B. But you can’t watch the sheep and guard the house.  C. But you can only plough.

Learn: plough

(2) What does the dog do?

He turns his nose up and says.

Learn: turn one’s nose up

Ss turn their noses up and say: You can only plough.

3. Q:How do you know the horse is clever? Try to find an important sentence.

Read and learn: If I don’t plough ,what do you guard?

Ss suppose how does the dog respond at last?

4 Ss read after the tape.

  Ss read by themselves.

  Ss read in role of four.

  Ss act out the story.

5. Summary.

Stage III:  Post-reading

 Ss try to say their abilities and talk in groups: I’m very important. I can…

2 What is the most important in the world?

 Working together is. We all live in the same nature.

Ss try to find “nature” in the word puzzle: Animals, plant, water, sun, air, people

3 If I don’t plough ,what do you guard?

If I don’t guard ,how can you be safe?

If I don’t water , If I don’t shine , How do you grow well?

If I don’t grow well ,where do you live?

If we work together, we’ll happy forever!

4 Homework:

1. Read the story to your parents or your parents.

2.  Act out the story with your partners.
