Stage I: Pre-reading
1 Listen to the song “Old Macdonald”
2 Listen to some kinds of voice. Guess what’s on the farm.
Ss learn: sheep,grass
3. The horse and the dog live in the same farm. Show the title and read.
Stage II: While-reading
1 Look at the dog and the horse. What do you think of them? Ss say sth. about them.
Ss Watch the story and try to answer: A _proud_ dog and a _clever_ horse
2 Q:How do you know that the dog is proud? Underline the key sentences.
(1) What does the dog say?
Read and learn:
How great I am! In the daytime, I watch the sheep on the grass.
In the evening, I guard the house. But you?
The dog says proudly. Learn: proudly
Read proudly in groups.
Exercose:Read ,think and judge.
