4、了解西方圣诞节的来历和传统习俗。

教学过程：

Step 1. Warm up.

 T: Hello, boys and girl. Before we start our lesson, let’s sing a song.

 S: Sing the song “Merry Christmas!”PPT2

Step 2. Presentation

 1．T: As we know , Christmas is coming soon. So today we’ll continue to learn Unit 7 At Christmas. First, I will tell you something about my last Christmas. Last Christmas, I went to my Grandma’s with my parents. I ate a lot of nice food and played with my cousins. That was fun. I had a good time. Do you understand?

T: Would you like to tell me something about your Christmas or Children’s day?
    S: 根据PPT打出的句型口头表达。PPT4

2         T： PPT5 Do you know this old man? Who is he?

S: 圣诞老人。

T: Yes. He is Santa Claus. He is from Turkey. Look at the new word and read after me.PPT6

S:跟读Turkey。

T: When the first letter being capitalized, Turkey is the name of a country. In Chinese we can say土尔其。 It has another meaning. It means a kind of food, it usually be eaten at Christmas. It means 火鸡。

S：再次读新单词。

 3． T：Who’s Santa? What’s the story of him? Do you want to know?

S: Yes!

T: OK. Let me tell you. Santa Claus is the famous person all over the world. His first recorded name was Saint Nicholas. He lived in the Middle East of Turkey. He became famous because he was so kind. He gave the poor people gifts on Christmas Eve. He placed gifts down people’s chimneys. Sometimes into stockings. Santa can travel quickly from house to house . because he had four reindeers to help him. The most famous one is named Rodulf, he had a big red nose.PPT7

     T: Santa takes some rests during his long trip. He eats and drinks lots of food on Christmas EVE. Children always leave him food and drinks. And some children leave carrots for Santa’s reindeers. The children who are good all over the year can get Santa’s presents. They usually write letters to Santa and tell him what they would like to get.PPT8-9

     T： Look. I made this card yesterday. Let’s take a look. On the top, we must write our friend’s name. In the middle we must write the words you want to say to them. At the bottom we must write our names here. PPT17
