Unit 1 Who is younger?
I.       Teaching aims:
1.     Kownledge:
a.     Phonic: 字母组合or在单词中的读音
b.     Words: tall, light, young, old, heavy, twin, minute, centimetre, cute, also, chat
c.      Daily express for communication:
I'm as tall as you.
Su Yang's (twenty minutes) younger than Su Hai.
Whose school bag is heavier, yours or mine?
d.     Sentence pattern:
Who's taller than David?
Gao Shan is taller than David.
e.      Song: I wish I was taller
2.     Skill:
a.     能听懂、会说、会读和会拼写单词
b.     能听懂、会说和会读日常交际用语
c.      能听懂、会说、会读和会写句型
d.     了解字母组合or在单词中的读音
f.       会唱歌曲 I wish I was taller
3.     Feeling:
本单元的主要语言项目:比较级,牵涉到人和物的比较,应引导学生将所学的语言项目应用到实际,引导学生发现自己和他人的长处,并做到取长补短,正确对待。

教师可结合以前教学相关形容词的动作和节奏帮助学生复习已学过的形容词,特别是本课出现的:tall, short, long, short, big, small, fat, thin, new, old, nice, pretty, beautiful, good,

T: And you?
S2: I’m
T(根据情况继续):a.Oh,you are the same age.(继续问,引出b,c
                   b. S1 is older than S2. (板书)
                   c. S1 is younger than S2. (板书Teach: young)
比较old的不同意义,及相对应的反义词
f.       T: How tall are you?
S1: I’m . (teach:centimetre)
T: And you?
S2: I’m
T(根据情况继续):a.Oh, you are the same height.(继续问,引出b,c
                   b. S1 is taller than S2. (板书)
g.      S1 is shorter than S2. (板书)
 
Step 3. Fun time:
Game: Who is taller than **?(板书)
教师用此句型,用有关人物的不同的形容词提问,符合要求的学生可主动回答:I'm taller than **.
 
Step 4. Ask and answer
a. T: Hi, ** and **. Look, who is taller, ** or **? (板书)
 S: ** is .
T: Yes, ** is taller than **.
用此句型,用有关人物的不同的形容词师生问答,让学生感知比较级的基本构成和功能。
b.用此句型,用学生(图片)教学strong
c 生生问答
d. T: Look, whose / which ruler is longer?
 S: **’s is.
 T: Yes, **’s ruler is longer than **’s.
e.用此句型, 用实物(图片)教学light, lighter, heavy, heavier
f. 生生问答
 
Step 5. Consolidation
在英语中形容词的比较级有三个等级:原级、比较级、最高级,我们所学的是原级和比较级。表示二者的比较时用比较级,它的结构是比较级+than
引导学生通过板书,自己总结形容词比较级的变化:
3.      单音节词末尾加-er
4.      单音节词如果以-e结尾,只加-r
5.      一些以辅音字母加y结尾的单词,yi,加er
6.      闭音节词如果末尾只有一个辅音字母,双写尾字母,再加-er
7.      部分不规则变化good -better, bad/ill-worse, much/many-more, little/few-less, far-farther/further, old-older/elder, late-later(迟的)/latter(后面的)

   Who is shorter/stronger than **?
   Whose rubber is bigger, his or hers? 
 
Step3. Play a game(F)
1. Have S1 tell T or S2 the friend's name
2. Have S1 introduce the friend
3. Have other Ss guess
4. Play this game in the group
 
Step4. Presentation
1. T: How old are you, **?
 S1: I'm 13..
 T: How old are you, ***?
 a. S2: I'm 13.      T: Oh, ** is as old as ***.
 b. S2: I'm 14.      T: Oh, *** is one year old than **.
继续提问, 见机引出两个句型,主要教学asas…(表示“等于”)
2. Game: Look for your friend
要求学生找到与自己有共同点的朋友:Look, I'm as as **.或是与自己物品相同的:Look, my is as as**'s.
3. 继续第一环节的问答,主要教学第二个句型
4. Game: Who's the Number One?
S1:I'm 145 centimetres.
S2: I'm five centimetres taller than you.
S3: I'm two centimetres taller than S2.  
由教师提问,引出各个不同方面,让学生进行比较,练说句型
