根据新课程标准的要求和教材的特点以及高年级学生的认知能力，本节课确定如下的教学目标：

语言知识：能听懂，会说，会用单词change, wide, rich；

能正确使用much, more and more 加比较级谈论人或事的变化；

能正确理解和运用形容词和副词的比较级。

通过对比学生对于教师有了更深刻的了解，引导学生将心比心，剖析自己，如何做一名更好的学生，自然与过去进行比较，出于切身感受，产生英语表达思想的冲动，学生从自己的角度熟练运用比较级，在此过程中引导和培养学生热爱学习和勇于挑战自我的良好品质，感情、态度和价值观等到了升华；同时语言运用从会听，会说，会读最终到会写，使学生的能力提升到更高的层次，落实了本课的知识目标、能力和情感目标，也是本课的宗旨所在。
